President of Egypt inaugurates housing, road projects in Greater Cairo

A number of national projects in the housing and road sectors were inaugurated by video in Greater Cairo by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The president used his video address from the Sixth of October City to inaugurate housing projects in newly-built cities in Giza to provide thousands of homes for Egyptians. Additionally, the city of Sixth of October is building a health club, as well as several roads and bridges.

Egypt has invested more than 400 million Egyptian pounds in new cities around Cairo, including 220 million pounds to upgrade fourth-generation cities. Housing Minister Assem El-Gazzar made the announcement during the inauguration ceremony.

According to Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir, the Egyptian state has spent EGP 550 billion to improve traffic in Greater Cairo. During the ceremony, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Egypt has completed national road projects in record time and above expectations in Cairo in the last seven years. Moreover, he added that the state constructs road projects that will be useful for 50-100 years.

The president emphasized the importance of maintaining the building requirements previously determined and the role of the Parliament in this regard during the ceremony. He said, “I think the Parliament should play a role in what we are doing.”. Our goal is not to harm citizens, and the country belongs to all of us, said the president. In addition, he emphasized that there should also be a church in any housing unit with a mosque.
